La Cahooo is the sister lake of Firs Lake France situated in Martigné-Ferchaud, about 40 minutes from Firs Lake France. This is our secret little piece of paradise surrounded by farmland and forest.
Accommodation at La Cahooo
La Cahooo is completely off-grid with electricity coming from an array of solar panels and water from a deep bore-hole. So there are some compromises to be made! Drinking water is from bottled water and no hair driers can be used!! Other than that it is a normal existence in the accommodation!
The main accommodation is in the form of a wooden cabin that has been lovingly converted to provide a fully fitted kitchen, lounge (with FreeSat TV), dining room, shower/WC and double bedroom. With the sofa bed in the lounge this cabin can sleep up to 4 people.
Outside this cabin is a large graveled patio area with views over the lake and covered areas for dining and relaxing in the sun complete with a gas-fired BBQ.
Additional accommodation is the form of the two mobile homes. The Reading Room can sleep an additional two people and The Day Cabin a further two people.
Fish stock at La Cahooo
The lake is a mixed carp and catfish lake with the carp being the dominant species numbering approx 60 carp to over 40lbs. The carp are a mix of older original stock and those added over the past 3 years. Average weight of the carp is in the region of 25lbs. Added to the mix for 2025 are a couple of grass carp. The catfish are known to reach 65lb and are possibly there at higher weights. Some of the 2024 captures are below:
New carp arrivals for 2025 season
The Class of 2024 arrived at La Cahooo on 10th December 2024 in the form of 6 new carp (24lb4oz, 28lb7oz, 28lb10oz, 29lb1oz, 30lb13oz and 36lb6oz) plus 2 grassies (at 25lb and 29lb).

The calendar is now fully open for the 2025 season.
Price is £650/week for 2 people, £750 for 3 people (with 3rd bedroom in Tom Sawyer cabin) and £700 for 4 people.
